Who's Going To Clean Up This Romantic Gesture?

When I walked through the door last night, red and pink rose petals were scattered across the vestibule and up the stairs to the bedroom. How inconsiderate can one husband get? I could have slipped and broken my neck! Fortunately, the cloying, sickly-sweet odor of roses gave the petals away, and I was able to spot them before my heel slipped.

Besides that, when the hot air from the wall registers blow them all around, I'll be the one to spend a couple hours with a vacuum attachment bending beside the bed and under the dresser and most likely screwing up my lower back some more…

you’re probably saying : 02/14/06

Henry. You mentioned getting a GPS device, but we haven’t heard anything about it since. Why not?

Well, here’s an update. It rocks! Here’s a great example of how technology has saved me from being horribly bored.

We were in LA this weekend. We flew back on Monday morning, arriving at 11ish, and Mike had a job interview in Concord at 1ish. So, I took the Yahoo! Maps directions Mike had thoughtfully printed, and mocked them by rolling them in a ball and tossing them into the back. I typed in the address, and off we went. We got there early, wanted lunch, so I searched for Thai restaurants.

That’s not the best part, though.

After dropping Mike off, I want to a Starbucks – which I found with the GPS device, and studied for a while. Then, I was bored. I checked the GPS device: Mall? Movie? Arcade? What could I do – then it hit me.

I searched for nearby lakes, then inserted a grocery store as a waypoint, drove to buy some bread, and went to a lake to feed the ducks.

Then, I was back to pick up Mike with plenty of time.

About 30 minutes or so. We're planning on moving soonish anyway - once we have some certainty with the baby stuff.

But he got offered a job in Oakland, which he's going to take.

Hey - Dennis is getting a new car w/ the GPS system - he will finally make it home! The guy who sold him the the car told him if the GPS system keeps telling you to take the next right....you are circling the building you want...somehow, I'm sure this will happen to Dennis :)

Mike had a job interview in Concord? How far is that from your home?
