Voting Trends

Somehow, people are calling the Map of where Arnold won 'absolutely fascinating'. I think it started over at InstaPundit but my friend Brett called it that too.

Looking at it reveals that almost every county went for Schwarzenegger, with a small amount of 'coast' counties going for Bustamante. I don't know if that's interesting - or surprising. Take a look.

What might be interesting, is that the recall vote went almost exactly as the Gore/Bush vote in 2000. There was only a 5 county 'flip' (IE, counties that in 2000 voted for Gore, but in this election voted for the recall): Lake, Sacramento, San Benito, Imperial, and San Louis Obispo.

I'll leave it to people smarter than me to explain any significance.
