Rush-Lite
So, Tom Sullivan is filling in for Rush. I had opportunity to listen yesterday - and had to share the topic. He was talking about China's Space Program and why it is an indication that we need to militarize our space program.
Here's his thought process:
China's manned capsule is only going to spend 25 hours or so in space. But, the vehicle which brings the capsule will spend much longer in space, and has devices which will detect radio waves, ect. Obviously China is interested in spy satellites. And China knows all about lasers. So, of course, they plan to put laser weapons in space. So we need to do it before they do. (I don't RUSH 24/7 - so I don't have a link. Maybe someone who does can post the actual statements - I'm obviously paraphrasing).
Needless to say, while he's right about the spy satellites - and he may even be right about the weapons part, but - and maybe I'm mistaken - China has been in space before. They just haven't put a man in space. If they're interested in space-based-death-rays - can't they already do that?
Anyway, as a small aside. During the China Space rant, he took a caller who wanted to talk about all of those critical 'liberals' who say that criticizing the US is good for the country.
She said, I swear:
Isn't that like a parent who constantly criticizes, or beats, their children?
Yes. Criticizing the US is like beating your child. Granted, a child with it's own military and the ability to throw you in jail, but a child none the less.
