Democrats and the SOTU

Not the 'official' response, this time, but the people running to unseat Bush. Of all of them that CNN covered, Kerry seems to have had the best sound byte in attacking Bush's sound economy claims especially around the creation of jobs.

Clark's response was okay as well. He didn't really attack policy, but called bush on broken promises and failed commitments.

The rest seemed to be standard, somewhat luke warm, responses.

Lieberman was the worse - in addition to a weak pun ( "President Bush is in a state of denial about the state of our union,"), he also gets the award for the worst lead-in with his The America he describes as confident and strong is not the America I've seen as I travel across this country," comment.

Now, while he was trying to make the point that people are worried about the future -war- ect, which is true, There was probably a more elegant way to state that, however.
