Education VS Abstinence
You might want to read this one quickly, before the Bush Administration's 'Panel on Science and other tools of the Devil' gets a hold of it, but a study, funded in part by the National Institute of Child Health and the CDC, found that there was no statistical difference between STD infections in people who pledged to be a virgin before marriage, and those who didn't.
Among the other findings:
59 percent of males who did not pledge abstinence used a condom during sex; only 40 percent of male pledgers used a condom.
28 percent of female non-pledgers were tested for STDs in the previous year, compared to 14 percent of female pledgers.
There was one positive find, which that more pledgers did hold off until marriage before engaging in sex.
99 percent of non-pledgers and 88 percent of pledgers have sex before marriage.
