Fighting the good fight
Finally, the house has stopped fooling around and started serious discussion on how to tackle to...music downloading problem.
Am I the only one who looks out the window and thinks this probably is not the biggest threat facing our nation right now? Yes, I know it's not a victimless crime. Yes, I know it's illegal. No, I don't think the FBI should be spending too much of it's energy on these issues.
They want to be able to send people who download more than $1,000 worth of stuff to jail. Which, doesn't sound bad, until you read that they don't need to prove it was really worth $1,000 dollars,
Hmmm....did any of the corporate shirts who were complicit in the CD price setting scam a few years back go to jail?
I'm thinking they netted more than $1,000 . Of course, they probably donate more to campaigns than the downloaders...
