A Celebration of Rent

Every now and again, the rabid right needs a major movie to send them frothing. Movies like In and Out and the Birdcage drove them insane as they stumbled over one another to denounce Hollywood’s wholesale selling out of tradition values, and the furtherment of the homosexual agenda.

Sadly, really good – mainstream- pro-gay films have been missing of late, so they’ve had to busy themselves with Buster and Sponge Bob.

RENT, should fill their void (no pun intended). Drugs, AIDS, homosexuality (Indeed, the ‘hero’ of the musical, if you were to pick one, is the cross-dresser), anti corporation, and lots of sex.

While the ‘gay’ couple in the musical (and, I’m assuming the movie) may not be considered ‘normal’, the lesbian couple is overly normal. Which, of course, is the worst thing a movie can do.

Sodomy, it’s between God and me... I’m looking forward to it, already.
