Gay Priests
Well, specifically Roman Catholic Gay priests. Which is officially an oxy-moron.
I have to admit, I’m less than worried about any of this because it doesn’t change anything. Listen, being gay is contrary to Roman Catholic tenets. Sure, it’s hypocritical of them to cherry pick this particular sin, out of all of them, to reject priests on. Sure, this is a blatant attempt to confuse the priest-molestations scandal, and make it seem like the ‘gay’ priests are to blame, and the Vatican has now done something. Sure, it’s stupid.
But, it’s their church. And, priests are the ‘representatives’ of the church, and should really toe the spiritual line, if you will. My problems with the RC Church is when they see fir the denounce people outside the church, as if they somehow have a right to dictate morality for the world.
Within their little (and rapidly shrinking) universe, though, more power to them. And, lets face it, it’s not going to change much. It’s mostly the protestant groups (like Methodists) who are fighting the ‘lets let gay priests be visible’ fight. Not the RC church.
‘Gay’ priests will continue to be closeted when they become RC priests, as they are now.
