Jeers and Tears

I’ve heard some on the left are suggesting that Alioto’s wife’s leaving in tears was planned, which seems foolish. I’m sure that the emotional strain on family members during what is obviously an unpleasant grilling is huge, and real. Alioto is not intellectual rocess for her, he’s her husband.

That said, the condemnation from the right is equally foolish. This hearing doesn’t seem significantly more contentious than past hearings, and I don’t know that the Dems brought up anything the GOP wouldn’t have if roles were reversed.
