Giving Lawyers a bad name

I’m in law school. Last night, a student in the front of the class was asking a question and the professor was answering. During the back and forth, the student was talking at a volume appropriate for the distance between her and the prof, but not one which would allow everone else to hear.

Not uncommon. Usually, good Profs will repeat the gist of the question, and then answer it or, ask the person to repeat it louder.

Before either could occur, however, a student in the back rang out with a barrage of. “SpeakupSpeakupSPEAKUP!” then, loudly enough to be heard say – I swear ‘The rest of the class are not potted plants’, giving an inappropriate nod to the North hearings.

Needless to say, the prof politely called him a jerk and told him to shut up. (I think he said ‘You’re attitude is not helping things, and is inappropriate. Please be quiet.’)

Who says the law is boring?
