Tony snow keeps pointing out how Bush has spent more money on Stem Cells than any other president in history.

Nice line, but there’s obviously an asterisk to that statement. The first stem cell line for research wasn’t created until 1997. Up until that point, there wasn’t a significant amount of research into Stem cells, nor was there a big need for funding.

It would be like claiming that Bush has spent more money on Homeland Security than any other president. Well, yea, because it didn’t exist before Bush took office.
