Stupid Conservatives
Here’s an article on NRO about how we’re losing WWIV. Yep, the fourth world war. “What!”, you say, “Did I sleep through a war?”. And the answer is, “Don’t be stupid, of course not.” The third world war was –drum roll please – The cold war.
Yes, the one Reagan won handily for us.

Gay Parenting
My partner and I are a little more then 5 months pregnant (well, our surrogate is pregnant, but we’re expecting).
This is what she looks like today. She only weighs slightly more than 1 pound (which is perfect for her age).

Congratulations! I long for the day when The Boyfriend™ are finacially stable enough to have a child and just hope it will be before it's too late. I really can't imagine never being a dad.

Thanks :) It’s been a long road, but worth it. Waiting is the hardest.
Gays not content with children, move on to animals/infants
But, this is not about hate. It’s about love – love of making wild claims with nothing to back them up and with the purpose of demeaning an entire segment of the population to further a despicable religious agenda.

Wow, I didn't realize Renew America was run by Alan Keyes now, until I read the article. I've heard about them in the past and always thought they were a pretty fringe group out, even by religious right standards. Maybe I was wrong on that and that is just scary.

Well, Keyes has always been a little bit out there as well...

Shake Rattle and Roll
I’ve lived in SF for over five years ago. Today was the first time I really felt an earthquake here.
fightglobalwarming.com
I’ve seen two ads on TNT just today for fightglobalwarming.com. Both, actually, are well done. I particularly like the train one.
Speaking with one voice
Another GOP Candidate compares being gay to pedophilia.
Republicans attack ACLU
They’ve introduced legislation in both the house and senate which would prevent organizations like the ACLU being awarded legal fees for brining suits like the Dover ‘intelligent design’ case, or the 10 commandment cases.
Not surprisingly, the bill would only prevent attorney fees when a person sues over establishment of religion, not free exercise. So, groups like the ACLJ and other ‘religious backed’ legal organizations would be unaffected.
When congress introduced US 42:1988, they recognized that the costs of litigation, as well as the deep pockets of companies and municipalities, could prevent people from suing to protect their rights.
They limit fees to only when a person wins their case, so it’s only when a court find for a client, can the court award such fees.
Ummm, yea.
What the hell is going on with this post at Huffington?
Here’s my hand rule: Anytime you do anything with blackface, you’re probably doing something stupid and racist. No to mention that, I have no idea what the point is. Is Lieberman painting his face to fit in with the democrats? Is he claiming to have been born a poor black sharecropper?
Not only is this offensive, it’s stupid.
Update: They took the image down, and offered an apology. Apparently, the image was supposed to reflect Lieberman associating himself with Clinton, while raice baiting or some such.
Regardless, it was a poor choice.
Comments:Haditha
Remember when Murtha suggested that some marines could have murdered some innocent Iraqis? And the right fell all over themselves
Well, looks like he was right.
The Good News
Is that the Kansas school board now has more evolution supporters than ‘intelligent design’ supporters.
The bad news is: This is news.

On the other hand
Mel is fair game.
I’m not a fan of Mitt
But, I find it hard to blame him for the whole ‘tar-baby’ thing. I know that tar-baby can be used as a derogatory racial comment, but I was unaware that it had evolved to the point that any usage of it was derogatory.
The original meaning of the phrase was exactly as Mitt used it: To represent a problem that tends to attach itself to people. Mitt didn’t use it in any manner that was intended to be racial and, when he was informed people took offense, he apologized.
Let’s go back to more important issues with him – like his rampant homophobia.
