Crazy Republicans

Hannity has offered a 10K reward for the capture of the people who attacked the Yale singing group. Read the interview with one of the victims as Hannity bends over backwards to make this about the Anthem, which it clearly isn’t.

S. AZIZ: So we were invited to this house for a New Year's party, and you know, at midnight, we brought in the new year and sang the national anthem. And you know, soon after, call it 20 minutes, these guests were already there, already being hostile and aggressive.

And soon after, things started to really escalate. And that's when the group — you know, left the party, thought that, you know, it really wasn't worth sticking around...

--- Snip ---

HANNITY: You sang the national anthem. You've got to be proud of him. I mean, he's a young boy...

L. AZIZ: I'm always proud of him.

HANNITY: He's at Yale. He's singing a cappella. He's got a great voice. You're singing the national anthem. Why? What was the motivation to get into a fight to call their friends to attack you? Did you get any indication what it was about?

S. AZIZ: Truth be told, I couldn't tell you what was going through their minds, what it was that made them feel that, you know, a call needed to be made and that a fight was even necessary. That was not something that myself or anyone in the group really wanted.

We were, you know, we had just finished a concert earlier that day. And we were there just to be guests at a party and, you know, to bring the New Year and then continue on our winter tour. And so I couldn't tell you what was the trigger, the initial trigger, what it was, but you know...

HANNITY: It seems related to the anthem. Do you think it is?

S. AZIZ: In the sense that it really started to culminate after — you know, after midnight. You know, tempers started to really flare on their side afterwards. So that could be — you know, I'm not sure how that affected them, how the national anthem was related to them going overboard, if you will, but that — you know, that was...

HANNITY: This breaks my heart. You're a young man. You achieved so much in your life. You're doing something really wonderful. And you know, I want to get these people that did this to you, and I hope — working with your attorney and the detectives out there that we're able to find them.

I'll tell you what I'm going to do. I'm going to offer a $10,000 reward for anybody that will come and testify that as a witness to this, to help get these people — you know, America is still a country where you can sing the national anthem and not be attacked viciously like this, and cruelly like this.

You're a young man. You should not have had something that horrible happen to you. I'm very, very sorry.

Actually, I have no problem with the reward. Hannity is right in one sense, this was a horrible event and those responsible should be arrested. Make no mistake, however, that Hannity only cares because of the Anthem – which clearly was not the reason why these guys were attacked. I’d love for Hannity to start offering rewards for other victims of crimes.

The real story is the SFPD’s handling of this – which seems to have been brushed off because of bad blood between the PD and the owners of the home.
