A measure has been ‘quietly’ introduced in Congress to stop treating the cost of insurance for Domestic Partners /Same Sex marriages as additional income. It’s not considered income for married couples.

In the spirit of bipartisanship, I will gladly note that it looks like a Republican, Gordon Smith from Oregon, is going to co-sponsor the house version. And kudos to him.

However, I’m willing to bet most Republicans will oppose/try to kill this measure, even though it is essentially a tax cut. Because, in the world of the GOP: Anti-gay trumps all.
