Ahhh, Politics

Does this surprise anyone?

The Senate has been in session for 54 days, compared to the 41 days during Republican control at this point in 2006. (Granted, 2006 was a midterm election year.) The Democrats have held 128 votes; last year, at the 100-day mark, there had only been 90.

Yet, the Republicans call them ‘Do Nothing’.

Still, the money shot is here:

"Well, perhaps," Lott said. "But if you are tangled up completely in trying to have partisan political investigations, how do you have time to actually produce legislation?"

Funny, he seemed to have a different view when he was doing the investigations.

But yesterday Lott put it differently. "He can't complete his work if the White House won't cooperate with him, and they've continued to stonewall and attack even to the point of using my words to try to, you know, denigrate Ken Starr, which I don't think is fair and that was not my intent."

Lott also said the controversy was "beginning to have an impact" on Clinton's ability to govern, suggesting it was affecting issues ranging "from Social Security to what's going on in Iraq to now what's going on in Kosovo."

Of course, that was about lying over sex. Where as, the Democrats are investigating lying about war, and firing of Attorneys political reasons.
