Riding the Bar Rollercoaster

Day 1 of the California Bar exam is behind me. In the 4 hours since it ended, I went from feeling confident to sure I will fail. I’m not sure why – I spoke with some others, and I don’t think I made any major mistakes.

The essays were a Con law / Crim Pro crossover, a Professional responsibility essay, and a straight-up contracts question. I made a minor (hopefully) goof on the Con Law question, but feel I did well on the rest of the essays. I felt pretty good on the Performance part as well.

The maddening part is not really having a sense of how many mistakes you can make before you drop below failing.
