Watch as the gay conservative groups trumpet the fact that Palin was the first ‘Alaskan’ administration to provide same-sex benefits. This is one of those fun “truths” that is, in fact, a lie.

The truth is that she opposed the measure, but signed it because it was court ordered, and her AG said she had no real choice. She then spent 1.2 million to run a special election, with only a non-binding advisory question about the benefits on the ballot.

If she really was a social ‘moderate’, would anti-gay groups like FRC and CWA herald her as the VP choice?
