Hockey Mom

I tuned into weekend conservative radio to listen to what the response to Plain was. Most of it was predictable. The ‘are we seeing the first female president’ meme has been running the circuit, and is clearly aimed at enticing angy Hillary voters for McCain.

However, local SF conservative David Gold did close to an hour analyzing the fact that Palin is a hockey mom (as opposed to a soccer mom). According to Gold, this is a huge deal, and likely to appeal to voters in the middle of the country where hockey is a big deal. (Gold went out of his way to note that there are few ‘hockey’ moms in the (liberal) bay area).

So, add ‘Hockey Mom’ to the list of demographics that are now ‘in play’ to counter (one guesses) the ‘Liberal Enclave’ Soccer moms.
