The Folly of the Gay Republican

GayPatriot is all pleased that the GOP took his advice that they not make a a big deal out of gay issues.

Apparently, GP thinks keeping the party silent on their real views is the right way to go, presumably because he knows if McCain/Palin clearly stated their views on gay issues, many gays would be turned off. So, best not to mention it.

Of course, it is mentioned in the platform. But, who pays attention to these things. And McCain is on record as being against civil unions, gay adoption, and same-sex marriage – but since he didn’t bring it up during the RNC – we can freely ignore his past statements.

That’s the ‘standard’ for gay rights with gay republicans – we don’t need equality, we just need them to keep their mouths shut to get elected.
