AT&T: ‘Consumer Friendly’
AT&T has updated it’s service agreement. Now, the agreement is in 2 parts: An 8000 word agreement that incorporates a 2,500 page guidebook , and which all customers have adopted regardless of their ability to read it.
The gems inside the agreement?
- They will notify you of rate changes unless ‘commercially reasonable’ (guess who decides this?)
- Customers agree to pay for all charges for services provided under this agreement even if such calls were not authorized
- Customers who don’t cancel are waiving the right to a trial by jury and to participate in a class action, leaving only arbitration as there sole remedy
By the way, I curiously went to the website listed for the guidebook, clicked on the link, http://cpr.bellsouth.com/guidebook/ and was sent to a ‘can not find server’ page.
