Question

I’m glad McCain has decided to joint he debate he already agreed to – but I have to laugh at the statement that his campaign put out that ‘enough progress’ has been made to allow him to focus on the debate.

Umm, aren’t things worse now than before you suspended your campaign? I mean, before you stopped, there was arguably a ‘tentative’ agreement, as opposed to today where the House GOP has balked at the plan.

Yeah, that was what I thought too.

I'm not surprised he's debating (I'd have been surprised if he actually skipped it), but I was thinking that he'd probably convince House Republicans to go along with the plan.

I figured it'd play out like this:

(a)Everybody tentatively agrees on a plan.
(b)McCain visits and the GOP says "Hold on, no plan agreed on"
(c)The last minute the Republicans change their minds and agree to the plan that the had already previously agreed tentatively too. Just in time for McCain to make the debate, while not going back on his word.
(d)Those same republicans credit McCain for changing their mind and say how thankful we should all be that he came to Washington to convince them.
