A Smile is just a Smile

I watched the debate last night. Nothing really surprising or new – though most polls have Obama as winning.

I have a theory on that – and it involves smiles. Both McCain and Obama tended to make facial responses in response to things. But, McCain’s face always seemed to be saying: “Take that! Look how clever I am”, while Obama’s face smile always suggested that he was amazed at how much spin McCain had put on whatever he just said.

I think Obama’s smile helped defuse what McCain had said. McCain’s smile did the same thing. Which is why Obama looked like the winner.
