I love this stuff

Scientists are theorizing a massive asteroid strike may have turned off Mars’ magnetic field – which is what lead to it’s modern day state.

Most scientists believe young mars was very much like young earth, but that the two planets took very different paths.

At once, it both suggests life supporting planets are not that uncommon (we would have had 2 in our solar system), and shows how fragile the ecosystems are.
