Scene: Farmhouse Barnyard - Tu has just arrived. TD and Clemency were instructing Justin

Present: Touch Deer, Justin, and Clemency

I forgot to start loggin, so my arrival is missing.

Touch Deer heads to Tu the moment he arrives, eyes widening, attention grabbed by the Walker's appearance. "I'm glad you made it out, Tu, did you hear about the meeting I wanted to have?"

Justin starts to say something but Tu's arrival interupts him. He does say, "Seems like the litany, if strictly held to, really is good at preventing minor dominance conflicts from blowing up and damaging the Sept's abilities to fight the Wyrm, just seems like a lot of those here don't... um, think that the rules really apply to them?" He says softly then gives Tu a little wave.

Clemency gives Tu a hard stare as though about to demand something of him, but Touch Deer and Justin's greeting defuses any challenge she may have been about to make. She takes a couple of steps closer to the cub, unobtrusively. She says nothing.

Tu dips his head, respectfully, to the Wendigo. "Yes I did. Of course, the Walkers will do whatever we can to help." He pauses, then adds with a smile, "And, after the Scrag hunt, I certainly owe you a favor or two." He lifts his hand in greeting towards Justin, and nods his head towards Clemency, before addressing Touch Deer once more. "Do you know need something specific?"

You paged the room with 'That extra Know probably can be ignored.'.

Touch Deer puts his arm on Tu's shoulder, eyes intent on his as he replies, "What I need is information, then...the drugs that they want people to give pets. They said, I am told, that pets can be made immune to rabies. If we can do this for our wolf kin, we could save many of their lives. Nothing else has worked we've tried so far, so this may be the only option left."

Justin blinks and lets out a startled, "Rabies!?" His eyes go wide as he startles. Seems the kid knows something about the disease and that Touch Deer's words are news to him. He gulps, looking at those here questioningly but not saying more for the moment.

Clemency's frown relaxes at the mention of Glass Walkers and rabies. "Ohhh yes. Can anything be done about this?" she asks Tu. "It's imperative. Not only are there all the wolves in the national park, but one of the Children of Gaia has a wolf-mate and some six-month youngsters, two of whom are garou, so we absolutely must safeguard his family."

Tu considers the request for a moment. "That shouldn't be too hard, I don't think. Vets inoculate dogs and cats all the time, so I'm sure there is a good supply available. I think, though, the shots only last a few years, so it will probably need to be done more than once." He slips his hand into his jacket pocket and produces a rather low-tech notepad and pencil. "About how many wolves are we talking about?"

Touch Deer steps back, thinking quietly a moment before replying, "Eighteen, perhaps twenty. Karl's family brings it just above 24 I think. I know..absolutely nothing about vets and innoculations, and drugs...as you know. I want to leave the finding of the drugs, obtaining enough for us, and finding out how to use them, to your Tribe and its allies. You can instruct myself and some others how it works, and we can then handle giving the drugs to the wolves."

From afar, to the room, Touch Deer guesses at the number, although TD should have a good idea ICly how many wolves there are.

Justin shakes his head, "No no no no no..." He says rapidly, "You'll never..." He pauses, "Um... sorry, I mean... /you/ might be able to track down all the animals that need to be vaccinated but... um, there's really a better option? In the late 80's in Texas they had a rabies out break in the coyote population and they used an oral vaccine that they distributed by lacing food and leaving it along paths dropped aerially across the wilderness. Um..." he flushes as he realizes he's rather rudely interupted, "Ah... I mean, wouldn't that be a lot easier than needles? And catching them? And... you could cover more than just the wolves, maybe block it from spreading more widely... um, maybe?" He says now some what sheepishly.

Clemency looks at Justin in surprise -- a good surprise. "You seem to know more about this than the rest of us," she concedes.

Clemency pages to the room: 'news wolf woods' may be useful for people to read here if they don't know it already.

"The Oral Vaccine will work too, though I think they were meant more specifically as a general response to rabies.", he says in reply to Justin, but directed towards Touch Deer." In order to specifically inoculate certain wolves, we'd either need to make sure they ate the oral vaccine, or we need to inject the vaccine. Not sure which would be easier." He makes a second note in his note pad. "The oral one might be harder to get too, as I'm not sure if Vets would stock it. But, I'll figure it out." Tu doesn't appear to think this will be a difficult task. "You'll need a plan to track which wolves has been inoculated, of course. They all look too much alike to me."

Touch Deer stares at Poe, a faint smile creeping into his features. "Thanks, Justin." And, back to Tu, "Do what you can to find out answers to all these questions. I know so little about your world, I rely entirely on your Tribe for these kinds of missions. So, find out, report back, okay?"

Justin hesitates then says, "I just meant that if you made it obvious there was an outbreak to the CDC they'd probably intiate an aerial drop program. You could still directly vaccinate those you can get, but... if you want to make sure it doesn't spread more or there are threats of infected animals you might miss... you could let the human governments do their thing? I mean, they don't go tromping through the woods to drop it, they use small planes and um... drop the packs in paths... I think." He says now more softly, "Just... you know, let them do the hard work and we could worry about only the wolf kin and wolves that we know are in our area?"

Justin pages to the room: Assumes TD didn't mean Poe?

"The oral one should work with Karl and his family at the very least," points out Clemency. "Assuming of course that he has enough wolf-savvy to make sure they eat the bait. It's not as if the cubs aren't weaned."

Tu returns paper and pencil to his pocket, and nods at Touch Deer. "I'll report back as soon as I can." He steps back, letting the Wendigo get back to other business, and moves towards Clemency, hand extended. "I don't think we've met. I'm Tu, obviously, of the Walkers. You are?"

Touch Deer pages to the room: Hah, meant Justin, sorry. phone, afk.

Justin nods a bit but stops his rambling. He looks over at Clemency, with a little bit of a hopeful look. "Just trying to help..." He says softly. Then looks back to Tu, watching the interaction between Tu and Clemency.

Clemency gives Tu a smile, not a broad one but polite, and inclines her head in response to his introduction. "I am Clemency Haynes, Fire-Burns-Forever, cliath and ahroun of the Silver Fangs, descendant of the Tchigorin family of Garbistan, lately of the Sept of One Bright Star in South Carolina, formerly of the Oblivion Bringers pack under Wyvern with Spikes-the-Drinks as alpha, and now of this sept," she rattles off, all in one breath without having to pause for refuelling or thought. "I'd guess you have a rank and auspice?" she adds as a gentle hint to Tu that his introduction was rather less full than hers.

Touch Deer rubs his chin, murmuring to himself, then takes the cub's side as introductions begin between Tu and Clem. "I was told by some other Walker kin that the humans have been known to deal with an outbreak by killing large numbers of the animals that are showing sickness. They hope to kill enough so that the sick animals that are not showing they are sick...they ones whose rabies is asleep...are all destroyed and the rabies doesn't spread. I don't know what the humans would do, knowing the wolves in the park are sick, so I am afraid to take that chance. I think we can do this ourselves."

Justin nods a bit at Touch Deer's words and moves closer to him, "Um, in that case, maybe stealing a truck of the oral vacine encased in bait might be the best idea? We could put it out ourselves? Just have to get our hands on it and all." He says softly, "Or if we had the money maybe we could buy it? I don't know... I mean, buying it might raise red flags though..."

Tu nods, and appends his greeting. "Cliath no-moon, and Elder of the tribe. Son of Nguyen, eater of rice, and originally from San Francisco. It is nice to meet to you." He glances back towards Jeremy. "I helped kidnap him, which may explain why he seems to have a no-moon Walker tilt to him. Hopefully, you can correct it." He finishes with a smile.

Touch Deer pats Justin lightly on one shoulder. "Tu and his people are very good at doing those kinds of things, better than any other Tribe of Garou. I'll let him learn what our options are and we'll talk more, after that. So this is the first time you've helped the Sept do something..not bad for newly Firsted cub." He doesn't sound cheerful or overly kind in tone, but certainly does seem to mean it.

Clemency pages to the room: Jeremy?!

Touch Deer pages to the room: You meant, looks back at Justin yeah? :)

Clemency pages to the room: What is it with my cub's name? JUSTIN, people, JUSTIN.

You paged the room with 'Or poe. Jeremy or poe. :) Yes, Justin. Sorry.'.

Justin pages to the room: JUSTIN! Darn it! :)

Touch Deer pages to the room: All male cubs are now to be called Butch. Girls are Tootsie.

"The pleasure is mine," demurs Clemency. She peers at Justin. "Nah, I don't see anything there but Silver Fang. And when you see him in lupus you'll know as well. He's got breeding and a half, this one." She pats Justin on the other shoulder, sandwiching the hapless cub in between two cliath ahrouns. "But thank you for helping bring him to us." Justin oohs a bit then grins, "Thank you. I helped with the frog invasion too... I acted as a messanger for them then." He says softly, "But I like to help. Just need to not do too much or try to do things that put me in harms way too much before I rite. Need to focus on learning so I can be more help." He says to Touch Deer, clearly pleased by the complement of Touch Deer, but now feeling oddly surrounded by Ahrouns, "I'm sorry I thought you were a Pimp." He says, still grinning, the comment clearly directed at Tu.

Touch Deer pages to the room: Cliath?!

From afar, to the room, Touch Deer puffs up his chest.

Justin pages to the room: What a comedy of errors today!

Clemency pages to the room: Just to show that I can make mistakes too. Make it 'adults'.

From afar, to the room, Touch Deer nods, just jokin'.

Touch Deer's brow arches, and he 'ohs' softly, moving towards the door as he comments, "Twice you've aided us, then. A good start. I have to get going, I have some people to see at the Caern. Rest up tonight, Justin. All good medicine." The last is directed to everyone, and then he's gone.

Touch Deer pages to the room: I must go :/. Bye, good scene all.

Touch Deer has disconnected.

"Well, that's good. If you need anyone to show him the city ropes, just let me know." He takes a second to smile at Justin. "Yes, and you are not the first to make that mistake, and probably won't be the last." He watches Touch Deer leave. "Anyway, I should head back as well."

Clemency blinks at Justin, then at Tu. "Pimp? ...I shouldn't ask," she mutters. "I may well take that offer up, Tu. I don't get on with the city, being of a ragey persuasion and prone to blow my top too easily when surrounded by too many people, but Justin shouldn't be so prone to that. I expect there are plenty of people here who know how to reach you at home?"

Justin gives a wave to Touch Deer as the elder leaves, looing pleased as punch then turning his attentions back to Tu and Clemency. "Can't do that. Can't go to the city until things are taken care of so the police aren't looking for me. Otherwise something goes wrong it could cause big trouble, maybe a veil issue."

"Yes. Actually, I think Justin has my cell number. Cole also knows how to reach me in a pinch." Tu glances back at Justin. "Yea, well, I'm not sure how to break this to you, but I have a feeling the police aren't spending too much time on a lost kid." He seems amused by Justin's belief of how the world works. "Still, we'll figure out a way to fix it for you."

From afar, to the room, Justin grumbles, "Only because Amy/Jervis haven't been able to RP. ;)

Clemency chuckles. "He's not the first Silver Fang with a dose of paranoia and he won't be the last."

Justin nods a little bit, "Well... rather not risk the veil in any way, you know?" He gives a shrug, "Anyway, there's no phone here at the farm house so a phone number doesn't do me much good."

From afar, to the room, Justin needs to exit stage right as well. Today has been crazy RL side. I'm very sorry.

Tu glances around the barn. "Yes, I forget how rustic this place is." The word rustic is emphasized. "Well, I make it out here time and again, or just give notice to anyone who is city bound. They can find me - Andy, or Kevin, or Basil."

You paged the room with 'No worries. Thanks for RP.'.

Justin pages to the room: Assume Justin ran off to use the bathroom or something. Sorry. :)

Justin has disconnected.

Clemency stretches. "Okay, well, I'll be in touch somehow. Always use the payphone at Kent Crossing if all else fails." She saunters out of the barn easily.

Tu follows suit, and is soon headed back to the city.
